Series: Resurrection

1 Corinthians 11:23-32

Baptism by immersion symbolizes that we rise from death to our old life, to resurrection in a new life in Christ Jesus. It does not matter when you observe the Lord's Supper. No grace is being dispensed when you take it. There is no salvation in taking the Lord's Supper. There is no damnation if you don't take the Lord's Supper. Baptism does not save you either. They are both symbolic of what Jesus did.

God is a deliverer. Sometimes when God brings us out, instead of us praising Him,, we start complaining. God is more than just something to eat.

    Psalms 23

Between the time we get saved and the day we go home to heaven, between our birthday and our dying day, and between the womb and our tomb, the Great Shepherd of Psalms 23 is there with goodness and mercy to make our journey sweet. Psalms 23 is not about rest, heaven, or death. 116 words leads up to the first 3...The Lord Is. Before you can dwell in the house of the Lord forever, you have to know who The Lord Is.

    Luke 13:10-17

God can loose you from your infirmities immediately. But are you seeking some hope, or are you laying in your hopelessness. Are you wanting help, but not going after help. A lot of us say, “Help me Jesus or help me God,” but we won’t make a move toward it. We won’t give Him any praise, read the word, or come to church. But He is such a loving God that He will come take that hopeless situation and give you hope for a brighter future.

    1 Corinthians 1:10-19

The world thinks we are crazy for believing in a God that we have never seen. The preaching of the cross is strange and shocking, but it is a simple story. Christ rose for sinners like us and died for sinners like us. All other so-called religions of the world say that you need to get yourself together and then come meet us. But the praise worthy, marvelous thing about Jesus and the Christian religion is that He doesn’t wait for us to get ourselves together. He comes even when you are in your sin.

    Leviticus 16:5-22

The idea of a scapegoat is not new in this culture. We are always blaming somebody. We are always putting the blame on somebody else claiming, “the devil made me do it.” A lot of times, preachers preach about the congregation getting right, but in this book of Leviticus, the man of God has to get right too. Then the people can get right. And when they both get right, then God can do some mighty things.

When you need strength, power, and courage to make it through another week, you can go to the book of Psalms. Each one of the Psalms contains a powerful word when the soul needs to be encouraged.

    Genesis 17:1-11

Almighty God wants to do a new thing in your life. God wants to cut some things and people out of your life, so that you can grow in His deliverance. Sometimes it takes cutting away at the root, repenting, and turning away from it. Even though it may hurt at the moment, God said He will give beauty for ashes.

    Mark 8:11-21

The only person that you can truly trust and believe is Jesus. You have to surrender all to Him. Sometimes you have to give it all up and follow Him. It is easy to overlook the obvious when it is staring you right in the face. The answer is obvious. It is right in your face and you can’t see it because you are looking for something hard, difficult, strange, and mysterious. All you have to do is accept a Jesus. He will work it out.

    Nahum 1:5-8

No matter how calamitous your situation, the Lord is good. No matter how dark your circumstances, the Lord is good. No matter how unhappy your situation or how broken your heart is, the Lord is good. It may seem like things are not going to turn around, but the Lord is good. It may look like the enemy has the upperhand, but the Lord is good. It may look like you won’t ever stop crying, but the Lord is good. It may seem like every time you take two steps forward, the devil drags you three steps backwards, but the same God is STILL good.
